Position Overview
As a Fire Alarm Technician, you'll be the guardian of safety systems, responsible for the maintenance, testing, and repair of fire detection and signaling systems. You'll ensure compliance with industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and company policies while providing exceptional service to customers. Think of yourself as a protector of the forest—except your forest is buildings, and your tools are cutting-edge fire suppression technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing, repairs, and programming of fire alarm systems on a scheduled basis
- Ensure all work is completed according to manufacturer guidelines, industry codes & standards, and company policies
- Provide detailed documentation of inspections for company records, customers, and regulatory authorities
- Identify and communicate discrepancies, necessary system repairs, and potential upgrades to provide accurate customer quotes
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects safely and efficiently
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician
- Valid Oregon LEA (Limited Energy Technician, Class A) and Washington 06
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical information to clients and team members
- Ability to lift and move equipment (50-70 lbs) and work in physically demanding environments
- Comfortable working at heights up to 40 feet using ladders, scaffolding, and lifts
- Experience working in tight spaces, crawl areas, ducts, and above ceilings
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Level II certification (preferred but not required)
- Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and reporting skills
- A commitment to professional growth and ongoing technical training
